A little crazy in the middle, but everything else is ok!!!!

From amusement parks to restaurants to small town wandering: Middlebury has a lot to offer.

A portion of our state logo mentions one who sustains. Here in Connecticut have many examples of this logo.

As you know by now, our state is rich with history and full of infrastructure that has been around for many years. There is an example of this in Middlebury, where Quassy Amusement Park is the oldest and longest running amusement park in the United States. Now that's history!!

Here at the park there are many coasters, water rides, games, picnic areas and all the fun you want an amusement park to have. Now if you are looking for a different kind of ride, then how about taking a ride off the beaten path to the Little People's Village?

Deep in the woods between Old Waterbury Road, Route 63 and Exit 17 off of I-84 is a village for little people. Let me explain.

Rumor has it that many years ago a local man heard voices in his head that told him to build a little city, consisting of a throne and little houses. This is true and I have been there. There is a throne and a bunch of brick/stone structures of what was once miniature houses that are now in ruins. It is easy to see though that they were once small houses.

Rumor also has it that if you sit on the throne three times you will die. Now I am sure this is not true, but still I did not sit on this throne. It's really something you have to see to believe.

Now a more logical explanation to this little city is that an old trolley from the nearby amusement park once used to travel on by this road curiosity many years ago. Therefore, it could have been part of the park at one time? Either way and whatever you believe it's still a great story for the ages.

There is so much more to Middlebury, folks. The quaint and romantic restaurant, L, is here in town. A small eatery with great service, loveley astmosphere and great food selections. It's very cozy too.

Looking to open things up, have some fun with the family? Then Maggie Mcfly's is the place for you. This landmark has a two floors of dining, a spacious bar, arcade games and if I remember correctly, a car or plane hanging from its ceiling.

Not far from both restaurants, you can find Middlebury's walking trail that is built over the historic trolley line that once used to travel through town. This paved trail is close to 4 miles long, mostly flat with some small hills. If you take the trail, it's a great way to view the town and get some excercise too.

So that's Middlebury for you folks. One of Connecticut's great small towns with great history, amazing stories, great food and lots of family fun!!!!
