Shelton National looks to advance to the winner's bracket final in the District Three 12-year-old Little League tournament on Thursday when it faces Seymour at Sunnyside 1 (5.45 p.m.).
Shelton American, the defending champions, was eliminated on Tuesday with a 2-1 loss to Ansonia. Shelton American went 0-2 in the tournament.

In 11-year-old baseball, Shelton National and Shelton American face off against each other on Friday in the winner's bracket semifinal at Nike 1 (5:30 p.m.
Union City and Seymour square off in the other semifinal on Friday. The two winners and two losers meet on Sunday.

In the 10-year-old tournament, Shelton has reached the loser's bracket final and will take on Ansonia on Thursday at PJF (5:45 p.m.). The winner advances to face Beacon Falls in the finals on Saturday at Sunnyside at 11.
In 10-year-old softball, Shelton defeated Union City 12-11 in the loser's bracket final on Wednesday. It will face Seymour in the final on Friday at Union City (5:45 p.m.)
The following are sports-related offerings from the Shelton Parks and Recreation Department:
--Open Lacrosse for Shelton boys in grades 8 and above. The program will be on Friday evenings from 5:30-8:00 pm, June 24 through August 19 at the Shelton High School upper turf field.
-- Adult & Youth Tennis Lessons - $80 per session, Session 1 is July 11-14 and July 18-21, Session 2 is July 25-28 and Aug 1-4.
-- Munchkin Tennis - Entering Kindergarten & 1st Grade at 2:00-2:45 pm. Youth Tennis - Entering Grades 2 through 5 at 3:00-4:00 pm.
-- Junior-Adults Tennis - Entering Grades 6 – 12 and Adults at 4:00-5:00 pm.
-- Shelton Lacrosse Camp July 11-14 (inclement weather day: July 15) from 8:00 am to noon at Lafayette field for boys entering grades 3 through 8. The cost for the four day camp for Shelton Residents is $100, for Non-residents $125, after June 25 must include an additional $25 late fee. Stick, gloves, mouth guard, helmet, arm pads and shoulder pads and cup are required.
Football Camp starts Monday, July 18 through Thursday, July 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Shelton High turf football field. Ages 7 through 14. The cost for the non-contact camp is $85 per camper or $75 each for 2 or more siblings, checks payable to ‘Shelton Recreation Football’. Applications are available at the Shelton Community Center and Blanchette Sporting Goods.
-- Co-ed Volleyball Camp – August 15-19, 2011 at Shelton Intermediate School. Grades 5-8 at 9:30-11:30 am, $115. Grades 9-12 at 12:00-3:00 pm, $175. Register at the Community Center. Instructors are Tom Czaplinski and Brian Quinn.
