A Meriden man is accused of restraining his girlfriend during an argument in Shelton on Feb. 13.
Nicholas James Collins, 25, of Glen Hills Road, is charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree strangulation and first-degree unlawful restraint.
Police said he also hit and slapped the woman.
He is being held in lieu of $2,500 bond for a March 7 appearance in Derby Superior Court.
In a second case, a Trumbull man is accused of drunken driving in Shelton.
Edward A. Fisher, 57, of Beacon Hill Road, is charged with driving under the influence after his arrest on Feb. 15 in the 800 block of Bridgeport Avenue.
