Motorcyclist Dies From Crash-Related Injuries

A 30-year-old Monroe man succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Police announced that 30-year-old Adam Haydu of Monroe, the motorcycle driver who was involved in a Shelton crash on July 8, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

On July 8 at approximately 7:15 p.m., received multiple 911 calls
reporting an accident with injuries between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Leavenworth Road at the driveway entrance to the KellyNick LLC / Mont’s Mart. Shelton Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene. Haydu sustained life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old James Steinmetz of Monroe, sustained minor injuries, but was not transported to the hospital for
any treatment. There were no other occupants in the car or on the motorcycle. Both the vehicle and the motorcycle sustained extensive damage.

The accident is still under investigation by the Shelton Police Traffic Division
