Michael Louis Militello, 38, of East Village Road, Shelton, is charged with disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a minor.
Police said Militello argued with his 15-year-old stepson and grabbed his arm, causing bruising and scratching.
He was arrested on March 25 and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court.
