High up in Warren

I am sure that the town of Warren is not at the top of your list of towns to visit in Connecticut. Some of you that live out east, have probably never even heard of the town. Well, let me paint you a picture of the town, literary. Warren is named after Revolutionary War Hero, Joseph Warren who was born in near by Roxbury. Warren was one of our country's early promoters for liberty and justice for all. He actually was the one who dispatched Paul Revere to warn Concord and Lexington of a pending British Invasion. Unfortunately
, Warren died soon after in the Battle of Bunker Hill. His death is depicted in one of our country's more famous paintings, called" Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker's Hill". John Trumbull who observed Warren's Death from near bye, is the creator of this painting. The painting is a classic and is high up on list of historic captions of that time period. Fortunately for Warren, the town has continued to retain is rural setting and character since that time period. As written in my book, one of more scenic spots in state can be seen high up on a hill from the intersections of Routes 45 and 341. As you look south from this point you see endless mountains, rolling hills and an open parcel of land that has just one house on it. It's one of my favorite vistas in the state of Connecticut and one that should not be missed. From this point folks, you can see what Connecticut is all about. The Hopkins Inn is also high up on a list of Inn's tourist and locals like visit in Connecticut. The Inn is located high up on a hill, overlooking scenic Lake Waramaug. There is an outside patio under the biggest Chestnut Tree you will ever see in Connecticut. The food consisting of French and Australian Cuisine is out of this world, while the service is impeccable. Dinner on the patio, under the tree should be high up on your list of things to do in Connecticut. Take note guys, this is a great place for a date. Right next store to the Inn, you have the Hopkins Vineyard and Winery. The winery holds many wine tasting events and festivals that are attended by many. The wines themselves are always listed high up in comparison to other state wine producers and they are yummy too! I hope I have painted the perfect picture for you in reference to the town of Warren. Now you know a bit more and hopefully you will put it high up on your list of things to do. After all, things are always looking up in Warren.
