Obituary: Andrew Murcko, Age 84

Andrew P. Murcko, age 84, of Shelton entered into rest on Sunday January 6, 2013 in his home. He is the devoted husband of Virginia Leach Murcko.
Mr. Murcko was born in Bridgeport August 9, 1928 son of the late Paul and Anna Slossar Murko and was a Shelton resident for most of his life. He was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for over 33 years, was a gem collector, and was a former member of the Echo Hose Fire Co. # 1. Mr. Murcko was also a meteorite collector and enjoyed music.

He is the beloved father of Brian Murcko, and his wife Joanne of Shelton, and Diane Vardzik of Stamford.

He is the brother of Michael Murcko, of Bridgeport, Paul Murcko, Sr. of Fairfield, and Pauline Murcko of Bridgeport. He is the cherished grandfather of Jesse Murcko, of Stratford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews around the country.

He is predeceased by his cherished granddaughter Sarah Murcko, a sister Ann DiFrancesco, and 3 brothers Daniel Mercer, John Murcko, and George Murcko.

Friends may greet his family on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Wednesday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church Shelton.
