The Great Give 2013!

The Great Give® 2013 - -  a 36-Hour Giving Event to Benefit Greater New Haven Nonprofits - - Begins October 2nd at 8:00am EDT; $150,000 in Matching Funds; Three Grand Prize Awards of $15,000 Each

At a special kick-off celebration at New Haven’s City Hall, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven announced it will once again hold The Great Give® - a 36-hour online giving campaign to raise funds for local nonprofits serving Greater New Haven. The Great Give® 2013 will take place between October 2 at 8:00 am and end October 3 at 8:00 pm; up to $150,000 in matching funds will be awarded to nonprofits profiled on giveGreater.org® that serve The Community Foundation’s 20-town region in South Central Connecticut. Individual grant prizes will be awarded in $15,000, $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 denominations; three $15,000 Grand Prizes are available to the nonprofits that secure the greatest number of individual donors, greatest number of new donors and the most money raised.

The Valley Community Foundation (VCF), which is affiliated with The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, is offering $25,000 in matching and gift incentives in this year’s Great Give. All donations made between $25 – $125 by Valley donors (residing or working in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour or Shelton) or Valley Community Foundation fund holders during the 36-hour period of The Great Give® 2013 will be matched until the pool is exhausted. In addition, VCF is offering two, $2,000 grand prizes each to the nonprofit that secures the greatest number of individual donors and new donors and $1,000 in special prizes to be awarded over the 36-hr period.
