President's Day Farm Tour at The Farmer's Cow

The Farmer’s Cow invites the public to visit its six family-owned farms in all seasons – winter, spring, summer and fall harvest. All walking tours are free and fun for the entire family. During these tours, visitors will be able to walk the farms, meet the farmers and the cows that make the milk, learn about farming, and sample a variety of The Farmer’s Cow fresh local products. Last year, thousands of people came from across Connecticut and beyond to enjoy the farm tours hosted by the farm families of The Farmer’s Cow.

The first of this year’s tours is the Presidents’ Day Farm Tour at Graywall Farms. On this tour, visitors will learn what happens on the farm in winter and will also meet Holly, a red Holstein calf who was born on Thanksgiving Day.  Horse-drawn wagon rides will take visitors to see the cows and view the farm, and if there is snow on the ground there will be sleigh rides, too.  On the walking tour, visitors will learn about the workings of this Connecticut farm and the importance of Connecticut’s Farmland Preservation Program.  After the tour, everyone will be able to sample the two newest flavors of The Farmer’s Cow ice cream – Muddy Boots Knee-Deep in Chocolate and Farmland Crunch™ as well as other fresh local products from The Farmer’s Cow.
