Shelton Scores and Standings: June 21

Shelton's Mike Georgalas is on the Connecticut roster for the 13th annual Governor’s Cup Senior All-Star football game,  which will be played on Friday at Southington High School.

The game is normally played at Rentschler Field  in East Hartford, but was moved this year because UConn is installing a new turf field. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. and tickets are $8.

Connecticut leads the series against Rhode Island 9-3, with its only losses coming from 2000-2002.  The Nutmegers have won the last eight contests including a 29-7 victory last season. Here is a list of the Connecticut roster:

 Shelton's men's summer basketball league got under way last week and continues through early August. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday at the Derby High School outdoor court. Here is Wednesday's schedule:

6 p.m. --Porky's vs. Downtown Danny O's

7 p.m. -- E's Cuts vs. Pop Boyz

8 p. m. -- Drafthouse vs. Acapulco's

-- The Shelton women's softball league is set to begin on July 6 and continue through late August.

The league has seven teams in one division -- Porky's,  Downtown Danny O's, R & C Autobody, Mario's, Cuppys, Caliente and Danny O's. The top four after the regular season will make the playoffs.

Game will be played at Shelton High and Long Hill School

Shelton's Mike Georgalas has been named to the Connecticut team for the annual Governor's Cup football game against Rhode Island.

The 13th annual all-star game is set for June 25 at 4:30 p.m. at Southington's Fontana Field.  Tickets are $8.

The contest normally takes place at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, but has been moved this year because UConn is putting in a new grass turf field.

The team will be coached by Masuk's John Murphy, whose team was voted No. 1 in the state last season. Connecticut has won the last eight games in the series Here is the Connecticut roster:
