Road Closures Sunday, Aug. 28

FYI: Make way for the road race this weekend!

Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept. reports that on Sunday, August 28, the second annual 10K Sunset Run for the Warriors road race will take place in Shelton. Approximately 500 people are expected to participate in the event.

Several streets in the Huntington section will be temporarily closed to accommodate the people involved in the event. The race will begin at Huntington Street and Roaring Brook Lane and continue onto Church Street, Nichols Avenue, Isinglass Road, and back onto Huntington Street.

At 4:15 pm the entire race route will be closed to all traffic except for emergency vehicles. The race route will remain closed, until the last runner has passed through a particular section or roadway of the route. The entire roadway will be re-opening no later than 6:15 pm. During the closing ceremonies, traffic around the Huntington Green will be reduced to one lane to allow safe traffic control and pedestrian crossing.
