Progress Being Made With Snow Removal on Howe Ave.

Detours are being set up at different times to allow crews to remove snow from sidewalks and to improve sight lines.

A detour is set up on Howe Avenue on Sunday afternoon as payloaders and dump trucks remove snow to improve sight lines. Earlier in the week, sidewalks that had been buried during the blizzard were uncovered, allowing pedestrians to access crosswalks and avoid walking alongside the busy roadway.

Are there any other Shelton streets in need of TLC? Shelton Patch Facebook reader Laura Klinger Kolaski says: "Please tell them to come to E Village and Longfellow. The big tree and the snow pile is making it a hazard. You can't see at all. I tried to call public works but you can't leave a message after hours."

It's about time! Downtown Derby streets and sidewalks were cleared almost immediately. Downtown Shelton seems to have been ignored. Trust me when I say that the Downtown merchants suffered because of this! It is a disgrace!

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
