Grab & Go Kids Planner: Monster Trucks, Family Dinners, Sing-Along Fun

This week, gather with the family for some Green festivities, check out the some of the rides participating at the upcoming Monster Jam Show and stop by First UMC to eat some fish with the family if you're observing Lent.

This week, gather with the family for some Green festivities, check out the some of the rides participating at the upcoming Monster Jam Show and stop by  First UMC  to eat some fish with the family if you’re observing Lent.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK


Where/When:  Advance Auto Parts stores at the Bridgeport, Derby and East Haven on Mar. 10 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Why Go: Check out 3 Monster Jam trucks that will be part of the upcoming show at the Harbor Yard on display at the Advance Auto Parts stores - get up close and personal with the rides and find out who’s driving behind the wheel these popular trucks.
Pricing:  $10.25 for kids age 2 to 12, and $20.25 for adults.


Where/When:   on Fridays during Lent from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Why Go:  For those observing Lent, the menu includes fried and baked cod, potatoes, ziti in marinara sauce, homemade coleslaw, dessert, coffee and beverages. Proceeds will support the missions and ministries of the First UMC of Shelton. Take-out Available.
Pricing:  $15 for Adults; $13 for Seniors; KIDS EAT FREE


Where/When:    on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Why Go: Watch your child's eyes light up as they march, dance, and play musical instruments. Songs and action poems included.  Recommended for kids ages 2 - 4 years and a caregiver.
Pricing: FREE


Where/When:   on Mar. 9 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: Visit the library for the "Grand Gathering of the Green" and enjoy a night of children’s stories, sing-along fun, and finish off the evening with a family film. Families welcome to bring a “picnic” supper – a wee bit o’ Irish soda bread and beverages will be served. This is a great time for ages 1 – 100.
Pricing: FREE

 
Where/When:   on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Why Go: Visit the library on Tuesdays with babies and toddlers up through 36 months for a 30 min. session with stories, songs, motion and fun.
Pricing: FREE. Offered in two, 6-week sessions. Registration is required.
