Food, Water & Hot Showers at The Community Center

Sheltonites still without power can head to the community center to get some supplies.

Shelton residents still without power can head to the , 41 Church St., starting at around 4 p.m. today, August 30. Food, water and ice will be given out to residents in need, courtesy of the Shelton Office of Emergency Management.

Community center Director Ron Herrick said at 2:45 p.m. that a truck is coming from Hartford, stocked with rations it recieved from the state.

"They haven't arrived just yet, but they're going to have a big trailer with all the supplies that will be set up in the back parking lot. Anyone is welcome to come by and get what they need," Herrick said.

Herrick also wanted to remind residents that they can take showers and charge up their cell phones and other electronics in the building.

"We'll be open until about 9:15 tonight and open again at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow," he said.
