Sabotaged Wedding This Weekend in Shelton

But fear not! This sabotaged wedding will leave you laughing...

Music chases the blues away. No one knows that better than 'Man in Chair' and he's coming to Shelton this weekend to prove that point.

An energetic musical, "The Drowsy Chaperone" will take place at 8 p.m. July 26 and 27 and August 2 and 3, at Shelton High School. A matinee performance will take place at 2 p.m. August 3.

"To chase his blues away, a modern day musical theater addict known simply as 'Man in Chair,' drops the needle on his favorite LP, the 1928 musical comedy 'The Drowsy Chaperone'," according to The Drowsy Chaperone event listing. "When the record begins to play, the musical magically bursts to life in his apartment, telling the tale of a pampered Broadway starlet who wants to give up show business to get married, her producer who sets out to sabotage the wedding, her chaperone, the debonair groom, her Latin lover and a pair of bumbling gangsters. The antics that ensue will have you laughing the entire time."

Cost: $20 for adults and $10 for students
