5 Things You Should Know About Shelton: June22

Check out these opportunities in Shelton today.

1. If you are 55 years or older, you are eligible to join the Shelton Senior Center. Head up to the center today with a photo ID and be ready to have your photo taken.  You will need to fill out an application to join. Membership is $4.00 for residents of Shelton.

2. The Shelton Youth Service Bureau offers Wilderness Weekends for kids ages 11-18. Kids will learn from each other in a camp atmosphere. Kids will come home after a weekend of learning about group dynamics and their individual strengths.

3. Now that the Birchbank mountain trails have been expanded, why not enjoy a day of hiking?

With three different hiking trails and 155 acres of open space, hikers of all ages can enjoy a day outdoors.

4. Kudzu can grow up to 6 inches per day and can be found around buildings, and sidewalks in Shelton. To prevent the vine from overtaking your home or property, contact the Shelton Conservation Commission for information.
