Readers' Choice: Kid's First Learning Center

Shelton parents and grandparents celebrate the town's preschools in this week's Readers' Choice contest (and a peek at next week).

The “” post emerged as one of the most discussed articles in Shelton this week, drawing dozens of comments, ratings and reviews from readers on why and how they chose their preschool, and what they love about the people to whom they’ve entrusted their children.

Shelton readers cast more than 1,200 votes, and earned over half of those, while earned about 30 percent to secure second place—the two schools were in a race for first throughout the week!

"When I was pregnant I visited each of the above schools; meeting the staff members & "interviewing the owners" - Kid's First Learning Center was by FAR our #1 and only choice!" - Tara Pacacha.

"I have to add to the choir of praise for A Child's Garden! Both of my children have been at ACG since they were 8 weeks old and my son is now in the kindergarten program. As soon as I walked in, there was never any contest as to where we would be sending our child for daycare - and ultimately, preschool and kindergarten. Not only is the program clearly first-rate, but I've always felt that ALL of the staff at ACG have truly appreciated (and celebrated) who my kids are as individuals - they're just as intent on their successes as we are." - Kate Pierpont

And over on the for A Child's Garden, Nydia Rivera-Brown gave the school a five-star rating and praised the teachers for "their creativity and professionalism and in the way they varied the curriculum to adapt to the every-changing interests of their young pupils."

Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s Readers’ Choice. Next week’s category: Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
