Man Calls Police On Himself, Gets Tasered & Arrested

The following information comes from a press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowksy of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.

On August 25 at approximately 2:00 a.m., received a phone call from a male who stated that he purposely parked his vehicle in the area of 219 Howe Ave in a handicap spot without a handicap permit because the Shelton Police don’t enforce parking laws. The male continued to call police approximately 15 times yelling at the dispatcher about the lack of enforcement.

When police arrived they located a vehicle parked in a handicap spot without a permit. A male then came up to officers yelling and screaming that the police are not doing their job. Police tried to calm the male down, but he continued to yell and scream and approached the officers in an aggressive manner. Officers attempted to detain the male, but he pulled away and took an aggressive stance at the officers. The male was warned to comply with the demands from the officers, but he refused. The male was subsequently tased and placed under arrest.

The male, 29-year-old Michael Andes of 219 Howe Ave in Shelton, was charged with second degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer. Andes was released on a $1,000 bond and given a court date of September 6 at Derby Court. Andes was also given an infraction ticket for parking in a handicap space without a permit.
