Patrick Macfayden, 19, of Birchwood Lane, Shelton, was arrested on drug charges after he allegedly hit a pole.
Macfayden is charged with driving under the influence, illegal possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, sale a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.
Police said officers saw a grinder, marijuana, baggies and cash in the car. His bond was set at $15,000.
In a separate incident, Jesse M. Miller, 22, of Soundview Avenue, Shelton, is charged with evading responsibility and illegal possession.
Police said Miller fled the scene of an accident and was found with a pill.
His bond was set at $500.
