I have lived in Newtown with my husband and my four children for the last 12 years. My primary responsibility is raising our four children. In 2006, Gary Davis (current Legislative Council member) and I co-founded WECAN (We Care About Newtown), a public advocacy coalition, to engage the public on the critical issues facing Newtown by providing important information to its members. In 2007, Gary and I believed it was critical to stimulate the competition between the existing political parties to provide the best choices of candidates for the voters of Newtown by creating the Independent Party of Newtown. I was elected to the Legislative Council and I served for two years. I ran unsuccessfully for the Legislative Council position in 2009 (lost by 21 votes) and now I have teamed up with a dynamic IPN First Selectman candidate, Bill Furrier for the Board of Selectman position.
