Located in the the former Brownson House, the Shelton History Center is dedicated to preserving the town's historyMore through education, promotion and maintaining a museum. In addition to the Brownson House, the center currently consists of the 19th century Wilson Barn, a carriage barn, the one-room Trap Fall School and an outhouse. Perry Hill School is the newly-renovated old Shelton Intermediate School. It opened its doors to students in grades 5-6More in September 2010. This is new to the academic community, as these grades had previously been part of elementary schools. Now, fifth and sixth graders get to learn in this beautiful new building, have their own lockers and get prepared for the intermediate school with the introduction of having more than one teacher.
