SHS is Shelton's only public high school. It houses students in grades 9-12. In June 2009, it graduated 313 individuals with 78 percent of them going on to two and four-year schools of higher education. The town takes pride in its high school; sports games are popular, the drama club's theatrical productions have been praised and many volunteer activities are available through the school. SHS offers a variety of courses in addition to its general requirements, and groups students by learning ability so that different needs are met.
