Crosby Commons Resident Meets the Editor!

Crosby Commons resident, Dick DeWitt, has been writing letters to the editor of the Connecticut Post for over twenty years. His thoughtful comments in response to Mike Daly’s editorials have even been published a time or two. Yet even after many faithful years of reading the Post and sharing his comments, Dewitt never had the opportunity to meet the editor whose writings he followed…until now.

With the help and coordination of Crosby Commons Activities Director, Mary Ann Milano, DeWitt had the pleasure of meeting Mike Daly, Editorial Editor for the CT Post, for lunch on Wednesday, April 16th. The lunch visit was arranged in the Crosby Commons Dining Room, offering a meet and greet for DeWitt and Daly, and other Crosby residents. After lunch, Daly thanked the residents for their hospitality and presented DeWitt with a special gift: a copy of the book, On Writing Well, by William Zinsser. Daly praised DeWitt’s thoughtful, intelligent writing and expressed his appreciation for people who take the time to respond to editorial columns with feedback that is both complementary and critical. Both Dewitt and Daly posed for a photo before parting ways.
