Laurel Glen Farm to Reopen This Summer

Meet the young farmers who are transforming Laurel Glen Farm in Shelton.

Welcome to the official blog of Victoria and Randy of Laurel Glen Farm in Shelton, Connecticut. We're gearing up for our first season of farming and will open with a summer C.S.A. and small on-site farm stand this year.

As many of you may have read, Laurel Glen Farm has deep "roots" in Shelton. It was once 100 acres and existed as a dairy farm until the 1970s. Although there are only six acres remaining to farm on, Randy and I are determined to see this historic farm thrive with fresh vegetables for the community.

Some of you may be thinking, I've heard about Randy Rogowski, but who is Victoria? I am Randy's fiance and I am enthusiastic to join the ranks of hardworking Rogowskis by contributing to Laurel Glen Farm. I'll be graduating from UConn in May with an English degree, so Randy figured I was the perfect candidate to do his publicity. I am happy to oblige. I will also take a more "hands-on" role this summer.

We have already seen an outpouring of support from the community and are so happy to have you behind us. We hope you will follow us here, and at the farm, as we continue our transformation.

Our C.S.A. will be a 16-week program to span from June through September. Full shares will be $400 for the season, which is worth approximately $25 of produce a week. Half shares will be $200 for the season, which is worth approximately $12.50 of produce a week. Pick up days will be at our farm (247 Waverly Rd.) on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 or Saturdays from 8 to 12. We will fill the pick-up times on a first-come, first-served basis in order to provide enough produce for all of our shareholders.
