Youth Winter Theatre Arts Workshops

Register now for exciting new theatre arts workshops sponsored by the Trumbull Youth Department.

Registration is still open for three exciting theatre arts workshops sponsored by the Trumbull Youth Department. All workshops will be held at the Madison Middle School Auditorium, 4630 Madison Ave, in Trumbull.

Broadway 101 for 4th & 5th Grade, Saturdays, 2/2 -3/2, from 10AM – 12PM.

Audition Technique, Tips and Tricks of the Trade, for grades 8-12, Saturdays 2/2 – 3/2, from 12:30 – 2:30.

5-day Broadway 101 intensive over the winter school break for Grades 6 – 8. will be held Tuesday, 2/19 – Saturday, 2/23 from 3 – 6 PM.

These workshops will be lead by 2 area theatre professionals, Christy McIntosh and Eli Newsom. Christy McIntosh is a professional performer, voice teacher, and audition coach, having appeared Off-Broadway, regionally, and on national television. As a teacher, she has coached her students into booking Broadway shows, National Tours, Off-Broadway musicals, regional productions, independent films, college theatre programs, and agent contracts. She is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors at Bridgeport Theatre Company and directed their productions of Hairspray and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This January she will direct Next to Normal for BTC. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity Association. Eli Newsom is a local director/teacher/actor and is the founding Artistic Director of the Bridgeport Theatre Company. This summer he joined the staff of Fairfield Teen Theatre, which presented the musicals 13 (Director/Musical Director) and The Who's Tommy (Director). He is also the creator of a popular instructional tap dance video series and iPhone app titled "Tap Dance Made Easy".
