Let's Go Next Door to Trumbull

Trumbull is a town rich with history and has a ton of options for when you want to relax, when you want to have a party and when you want to eat well.

I don't know about you, but there was nothing better then going to your next door neighbors when I was growing up. Now, if we were to reference towns, my neighbor growing up in Bridgeport was the town of Trumbull.

In the town of Shelton where I now reside, it holds true again. What a great neighbor Trumbull has been to me. Growing up, my friends and I all used to frequent the Trumbull Mall.

Even now as an adult, I visit the mall for my shopping needs, or if I am hungry, I can also indulge in the many options that its food court has. Speaking of food, Marisa's Restaurant on Long Hill provides patrons with a great Italian meal and a delicious menu to choose from.

Marisa's also provides night life with music and one can also rent a room for a party. Going back in time, how could one forget my summers at Twins Brooks Park on White Plains Road?

The park still provides walking paths, a beach for a picnic, and a few small streams and one giant pond to relax nearby. Believe me, I have taken many naps there.

Another park in town called Indian Ledge Park has provided summer concerts with such artists as Chicago and REO Speedwagon. Of course, the rails to trails path that was once the Housatonic Rail Road has been transferred into a walking, biking, running and hiking path that takes you straight through the Pequonnock Valley.

Let's not forget the town's history. Where the railroad once went was once an Amusement Park called Parlor Rock. The town's name comes from our Revolutionary War Governor, Johnathan Trumbull.

Also, did you know that Money Magazine on a regular basis names Trumbull as one of the top 50 places to live in the United States? To top things off, there is even a movie theater in Trumbull on Quarry Road.

Wow, Trumbull has it all. From walking paths, to great restaurants, to music concerts, movies or if you just want to head to the mall. You cannot go wrong with the  town of Trumbull folks. Now that's the kind of neighbor anybody would love to have.
