Plumb Memorial Library Constitution Week Display

Visitors to the Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton can’t help but notice the Constitution Week display of posters, bookmarks, DVD’s and suggested reading about the Founding Fathers and the history leading up to the signing of the US Constitution.  A local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter, provided posters, bookmarks and Flag Code booklets. Chapter Regent Christy Hendrie stated that the DAR is committed to educating the public about the Constitution and thanked the Library for creating the display.

Patrons are urged to take a Flag Code booklet and the bookmarks. Constitution Week may be a week-long event, but protecting our freedoms is something we need to remember every day. Ms. Hendrie noted that the books and DVD’s on display were chosen so that library patrons can easily check out the books to learn more about our nation’s history.

The library reference room contains family genealogy and historical reference materials. There are numerous on-line databases for historical and family research. For further information visit http://sheltonlibrarysystem.org/
