Shelton Scores and Standings: July 4

Shelton National advanced to the winner's bracket semifinals in the 12-year-old District Three Little League tournament with a 10-0 win over Water-Oak on Saturday. It will face Seymour on Thursday at Sunnyside 1 (5.45 p.m.).

Shelton American dropped its first game, falling into the loser's bracket with a 4-3 defeat to PJF on Saturday. It will next play against Ansonia on Tuesday at Casa Grande (5:45 p.m.).

In the 11-12-year-old softball tournament, Seymour won the title with a 7-1 victory over Shelton on Friday.

WEDNESDAY

Shelton wide receiver Mike Georgalas and linebacker Cody Kitson will be be playing in Friday's 15th annual Hall of Fame Football Classic at West Haven's Ken Strong Stadium (7:30 p.m.)  

The contest matches pits graduated high school seniors from Fairfield County against graduated seniors from New Haven County. New Haven leads the series, 10-4.

The game is presented by the Ralph Desantis Fairfield County and the Gene Casey New Haven County Chapters of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Tickets are $ 7 each and will be available at the gate.
