Shelton Girls Basketball Advances To SCC Semifinals
Gaels will play on Monday against top seed Mercy after defeating Sacred Heart Academy 59-57 on Saturday
The Shelton girls basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southern Connecticut Conference playoffs with a 59-57 victory Saturday over No. 4 seed Sacred Heart Academy at West Haven.
The fourth-seeded Gaels will be back in action again on Monday against top seed Mercy at Quinnipiac's TD Bank Sports Center at 7:45 p.m.
Mercy reached the semifinals with a 39-27 victory over Cheshire.

In Saturday's other quarterfinals, Hillhouse routed Foran, 72-30, and Career downed Wilbur Cross, 48-38.
Hillhouse and Career meet in Monday's first semifinal at 6 p.m. The championship game is set for Tuesday at Quinnipiac at 7 p.m.
