SHS 'Gael Winds' Writers Awarded

Two Shelton High students were awarded The New England Scholastic Press Association Award.

Key to awesomeness: Both are student reporters for SHS's newspaper, The Gael Winds, and recently won The New England Scholastic Press Association Award. All participants were to submit an essay about a current, real-world issue that has affected the nation as well as its high school students.

Meyers, Editor-in-Chief of the paper, wrote a piece on military service men and women coming home for the holidays.

Hellauer wrote an essay that reflected on the passing of Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc., and the impact Jobs's work had on today's young generation.
