Written Words Bookstore Finds a New Home

They'll be moving to the shopping center on River Road that also houses The Giggling Pig.

Written Words is staying in Shelton!

After months of searching, owners Dorothy Sim-Broder and David Broder have decided to join The Giggling Pig, Shanghai Chinese Restaurant, La Scogliera Italian Restaurant and Oakdale Storage facilities at the shopping center on River Road, across from Precision Auto Tune, starting February 1s.

"Many books are being marked down 50 percent right now so come in and shop our giant moving sale! We need the cash flow to help with the move!" Sim-Broder said on the Written Words Facebook page.

In addition to cash flow, the Broders also need a little muscle to make the move happen. All the books and furniture must be transported down Route 110, and they're hoping their loyal customers will give up a couple hours the last weekend in January to drive back and forth and get things organized.

"We have little slips at the store for people to sign up to volunteer," Sim-Broder said. "Any and all help is welcome."

The space they're moving into used to be offices, and some walls need to be torn down before Written Words can set up shop.

"The place we're going to is smaller so we can probably fit about half of what we have now," Sim-Broder said. "In a way that's good because we can be a little bit more concise. After being in the area for a while, we know now what sells and what doesn't so this is a great time to purge and condense sections."

Sim-Broder also said they're getting rid of some of the shelving in the store, so if anyone is interested in purchasing just stop in and inquire!
