Shelton Garbage Collection Resumes Friday

On Friday, Feb. 15, garbage and recycling collection will resume in Shelton after the snowstorm delayed the process.

The city of Shelton provided the following information on garbage and recycling collection resuming after the snowstorm.

Trash and recycling collection will resume on Friday, Feb. 15, and will be picked up wherever feasible.

Collection will be on your regularly schedule day. Missed recycling days will be picked up on the following scheduled week.

Residents are requested to place carts in their driveway area, if feasible, especially if your road has not been fully cleared to curbs.

Please remove them as soon as possible as the plow trucks are continuing to “push back.”

Condo associations and mobile home parks that have dumpsters will be picked up on its scheduled day, providing the snow has been removed to allow clear access to the dumpster.

Residents are advised to hold back on recyclables and non-perishable trash that doesn’t fit into their carts.

The Transfer Station will also be open for residents that wish to dispose of trash and recyclables beginning Feb. 14, 2013.

Those with questions may call the mayor's office at 203-924-1555, Ext. 11.

Not sure why, but our trash men came today, and of course we did not have our trash or recycle stuff out because we read your article the other day. I am very confused.

Yeah additional confusion is if it's resuming on the 15th does that mean everyone that had pick up Mon-Fri has to wait until next week? Or do we just put the can out on Fri 15th just in case they come around? How difficult would that be to explain???

Fabulous...resuming the recycling in 2 weeks...garbage whenever, yet if you overflow on either...you"re screwed!! apparently large families were not taken into consideration when bins were distributed...thanks!
