Shelton Eye on the Beltway: Blumenthal On Veterans' 'Invisible Wounds'

And, Lieberman says Obama administration is "moving too slowly."

 

BLUMENTHAL: The senator was a featured speaker at the 70th annual Round Hill Association meeting in Greenwich Thursday evening, according to the Greenwich Times. He discussed numerous efforts he has made to help veterans adjust to civilian life once they return home, noting the "invisible wounds" they have to deal with.

LIEBERMAN: The senator said that the Obama administration is "moving too slowly" when it comes to stopping the violence in Syria, according to Fox News.

HIMES: The congressman, along with Gov. Dannel Malloy and Stamford Mayor Mike Pavia, joined developers, community leaders and residents for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 30 to mark the opening of Metro Green Residences, a 50-unit mixed-income green housing development located one block from the Stamford Metro North Railroad Station at the corner of Henry and Atlantic streets.

"Metro Green is not just a great little corner of Stamford that's going to make a difference in this city, Himes said. This is pointing us in the direction -- and by us I mean Norwalk and Bridgeport and Chicago and LA — of what the future of the American city looks like."

DELAURO: The congresswoman joined Milford Mayor Ben Blake and CT Department of Veterans’ Affairs Commissioner Linda Schwartz on Monday to announce that a new veterans’ Office of Advocacy and Assistance would be opening in the Parsons Government Building in Milford.

“Part of keeping our promise to our veterans is ensuring that they and their families have easy access to the services they need,” she said. “These offices help veterans and their families cope with the stresses of deployment or return."
