Conservative Gay Group Endorses McMahon

GOProud, the conservative gay group that endorsed Mitt Romney, announced on Friday that it also endorsing Linda McMahon, according to BuzzFeed.

Executive Director Jimmy LaSalvia said in a statement that McMahon "not only has the private sector experience," but also "a plan that will help grow the economy, create jobs, and end our disastrous dependence on foreign oil."

Christopher R. Barron, chief strategist for GOProud, added that McMahon is ideal because she is "Washington-outsider" who can "create jobs and grow businesses."

3RD DISTRICT

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro along with Rep. John Larson, introduced legislation last Thursday to reduce the levels of sulfur in heating oil, which, according to a statement released by her office, will cut down on harmful emissions in the air thus benefiting public health.

"It is high time we started using more of that fuel to heat our homes, benefit our environment and improve our health," she said.

Wayne Winsley (R): Winsley posted a YouTube video on Wednesday of a conversation he had with a New Haven resident in front of City Hall on July 25.

4TH DISTRICT

Jim Himes (D): Himes kicked off his "17 Towns in 17 Days Tour" on Friday in Ridgefield. Over the next 17 days, he will visit every town in the Fourth District. His next stop is in Shelton on Monday at Better Packages.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik wrote the following on his Twitter page on Friday: "As we prepare to cheer our Olympic athletes, we must not forget the Israeli Olympians massacred in Munich in 1972..." He then linked to a Washington Post blog about the same topic.
