State Rep. Kupchick and Sister Charged with Assault after Family Dispute

Her sister is from Trumbull.

State Rep. Brenda Kupchick (R-132) was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault after she and her sister were allegedly involved in altercation that turned physical, police said.

Kupchick's sister, Lisa Fabrizi, 42, of Trumbull, was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said Kupchick, 48, was "trying to act in the best interest of her sister" during the dispute at Kupchick's Farist Road home. Fabrizi, who reportedly called police to report the altercation, had a small scratch on her face when officers arrived.

"It was very minor in nature," department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said. "There are a lot of similar situations that don't rise to the level of police involvement."
