Shelton Man Gets 151 Months For Crack Cocaine, Heroin Distribution

Vince Hancock, also known as “Vincent Hancock,” “Tower,” and “T,” 38, of Shelton, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford to 151 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine and heroin.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on multiple occasions between June and September 2011, Hancock sold crack cocaine and/or heroin to an individual working with law enforcement. On September 29, 2011, law enforcement officers conducted a court-authorized search of Hancock’s residence and recovered approximately 41 grams of crack cocaine, 27 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of heroin, a .32 caliber firearm, narcotics packaging materials and approximately $3,555 in cash.

Hancock’s criminal history includes a conviction stemming from his involvement in the robbery of a Chinese food delivery man in 1991, which resulted in the fatal shooting of the victim.

On March 14, 2012, Hancock pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”) and heroin.         

Hancock has been detained since his arrest on September 29, 2011.         

This case was investigated by the Ansonia Police Department, the Shelton Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, with substantial assistance provided by the Derby Police Department, the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Marc H. Silverman.
