Shelton Man Charged with DUI on Route 34

Orange police say the man was driving erratically at about 3 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day.


A 47-year-old Shelton man was charged with DUI after police reportedly spotted his vehicle driving erratically on Route 34.

Police arrested Freddy Castro, of Summer Street, at 2:58 a.m. on March 17.

"Officers conducting routine patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically on Route 34. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers had the driver perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged," according to the report provided by the Orange Police Department.

Castro was released after posting a $50 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 1.
