Shelton Cops: Robber Nabbed 4 Hours After Heist, Thanks to Tips

Shelton Police say several callers identified Michael Magliocco as the alleged Webster Bank robber four hours after the 10 a.m. holdup.

"Shelton Police received several phone calls identifying the suspect of the Webster Bank robbery after the surveillance video was released to the media. Police were then able to track him to an acquaintance’s condo complex in Shelton that is adjacent to Webster Bank," said Police Spokesman Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.

“The quick arrest of the suspect in this case was the culmination of the police and the public working together with the assistance of the media. The patrol division and the detective bureau worked efficiently together to arrest the suspect approximately four hours after the robbery.”

Police said the robber entered the bank about 10 a.m. Monday and handed a teller a note, before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

Magliocco, 26, of Garden Street, Bridgeport, is charged with first-degree robber, fourth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of the peace.
