Shelton Cops: Domestic Violence Leads to Stitches

Chad Curtis Bennett, 36, of Mowhawk Drive, Shelton, is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Police said Bennett was involved in an argument in January in which he punched the alleged victim in the head, briefly knocking her unconscious. He then brought her to a hospital for treatment where she received stitches, police said.

The woman reported it to police 12 days later, according to reports.

His bond was set at $5,000 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
