Robbery, Assault at Cumberland Farms

The following information comes from a press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept.

On Saturday, August 6, at approximately 5:00 a.m., responded to , located at 464 River Rd., for a report of a robbery. An investigation revealed that a 22-year-old male employee arrived to work at Cumberland Farms in the morning. The employee began getting the store ready when he noticed a male in all dark clothing standing outside the door. The male had a bandana covering part of his face. The employee became suspicious so he tried to lock the door, but the male forced his way inside the store. The male put some type of object to the employee’s back and demanded him to go to the safe. The employee opened the safe and the male took an undetermined amount of cash.

The male then took the employee outside of the store. The male took the employee by the dumpster and slammed his head into the dumpster several times and then punched him. The male then left the area.

The male suspect is described as being approximately 40-45 years old, six feet tall, medium build with dark eyes and olive skin.

The employee was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and released later that day. Police are asking anyone with any information to call the detective bureau at (203) 924-1544.
