Police: Shelton Man Fatally Shot in Baltimore

Daniel Waldhaus' listed address was in Shelton.

A 31-year-old man who grew up in Shelton was fatally shot in Northeast Baltimore on Saturday afternoon, police told The Baltimore Sun.

Daniel Waldhaus was found inside a car with a gunshot wound to the back of the head near Morgan State University, The New Haven Register reports. Officers responded to a report of shooting at around 1:45 p.m. Waldhaus was pronounced dead at the scene.

Waldhaus’ childhood friend from Shelton Sean McCaffrey told The Baltimore Sun he was confused by his friend’s death. McCaffrey told the paper he didn’t know why Waldhaus would be in Baltimore, or who would want to kill him.

He was "one of the most loyal, caring, big-hearted guys in the world," McCaffrey told The Baltimore Sun.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.

A GoFundMe appeal has been set up to help Waldaus' family pay for ensuing costs.
