Lightning Strike Ignited Hubbell Lane Garage

The strike occurred Wednesday night.

A family of four at 41 Hubbell Lane escaped unharmed after a lightining strike set their garage on fire Wednesday night.

Two cars and the garage's other contents were damaged, said Shelton Fire Marshal Jim Tortora.

Lightning struck underground wires of an Invisible Fence pet containment system and travelled to the plug in the garage, according to Tortora.
