How The Grinch Stole Santa Claus

Unusual arrests and investigations from the area.

Police were called to New Norwalk Road about 7am on Dec. 3 when a passing motorist noticed damage to the roadside guard rail. Police quickly spotted a car, which had apparently gone over the guard rail, struck a CL&P pole and a tree before landing upside down in a ditch below.

They located the owner, a 31-year-old woman from Norwalk. She told police she had been driving south at about 2am the night before when she received a text message. When she attempted to answer it, she lost control of her car. Apparently unharmed, she told police that she then called her husband for a ride home.

She was charged with evading responsibility, a criminal misdemeanor and several motor vehicle violations.
