Headlights Left on in Shelton Leads to Arrest

Ricardo Nestor Llera, 19, of Minerva Street, Derby, is charged with illegal possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia.

Police said a car was left unlocked with the headlights on in the municipal lot in Downtown Shelton Nov. 19. The officer went to turn the car lights off when he saw a marijuana grinder, a baggie of marijuana and a scale.

Llera returned, claimed the car was his and was arrested, police said.

His bond was set at $2,500 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
