Duo Busted For Attempting to Sell $90K of Stolen Jewelry

The following arrest information comes from a press release by Detective Ben Trabka of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.

On July 19 Shelton Police were alerted that two suspicious males were attempting to sell high end jewelry. Detectives set up surveillance and found the two suspects attempting to sell the jewelry. Detectives detained the pair and determined one was responsible for a recent $90,000 burglary in Shelton. Police arrested 26-year old-Cody Ives of 17 Seventh Street, Derby. Most of the stolen jewelry was recovered by police. 

While investigating the burglary, Shelton Detectives along with Derby Police located a large number of illegal pills at Ives’ Derby residence. Ives’ girlfriend, 25-year-old Tiffany Cagganello, was arrested by Derby Police on narcotics charges.

Ives was arrested for the Shelton burglary. Ives was charged with third degree burglary degree and first degree larceny degree.  Ives posted a $100,000 bond. The court date is August 3 in Derby Superior Court. The narcotics investigation is continuing.
