A 20-year-old Shelton man is accused of burglary and drinking after he was stopped on Bridgeport Avenue Oct. 31.
Kyle Eckweiler is charged with fourth-degree larceny, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol by a minor and failure to wear a seatbelt.
"At approximately 1:15 p.m., Shelton Police Officer Chris Nugent
was on routine patrol when he conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of
555 Bridgeport Ave.," said Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.
"During the traffic stop the
officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw two cans of
beer. The officer then located a marijuana pipe along with four GPS
units, an iPhone, a window
punch tool and various consumer/credit/gift cards with different names
on the cards," he added.
Police determined that the GPS units and the various cards were stolen from several vehicles.
Eckweiler was held on a $10,000.00 bond and will be arraigned today at Derby Court.
