Car Ignites Inside Lagana Lane Home Garage

Fire Marshal Jim Tortora said Monday the fire at Lagana Lane Sunday started from an electrical problem with the car. The garage was gutted and the rest of the home sustained smoke damage, Tortora said.

The flames were contained to the garage, he added.

A car fire damaged a Lagana Lane home Sunday.

According to the Echo Hose Fire Co. Website, "Companies 1, 3 & 5 were dispatched to 15 Lagana Lane for the reported structure fire. Car 5 arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing with a vehicle on fire in the garage."

"Engine 52 with Tanker 59 arrived on scene, stretched a line and began to knock down the fire. Engine 2 arrived next, pulled a second line and sent a crew in to assist. Crews extinguished the fire and began the overhaul process."

The cause of the fire is undetermined right now. Lagana Lane is off Route 110 near East Village Road.
