Bronx Males Steal Over $5K in Items From Shelton Walmart
The following information comes from a press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.
On August 10 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Shelton Police received a call stating that three males were in the parking lot of , located at 465 Bridgeport Ave., and they were looking into and attempting to break into vehicles. Police arrived and did not locate the males in the parking lot. Police set up surveillance and later saw three males, matching the description of the caller, exiting Walmart. Two of the males were carrying backpacks which appeared to be filled. The males got into a Cadillac and exited the parking lot onto Bridgeport Avenue. Police then performed a traffic stop of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Marcel Simmons of Bronx NY, stated the Cadillac was not his vehicle and that he did not have a license. Simmons and the two passengers, 28-year-old Broderick Flowers and 39-year-old Renard Tabron both of Bronx NY, all denied looking into or attempting to break into cars in the Walmart parking lot. All three also denied buying anything at Walmart and denied going into the store.
A search of the vehicle revealed numerous brand new items that were identified as being stolen from Walmart. The items included video games and clothes. The value of the stolen items is over $5,000. Also found were keys from Walmart that can be used to open the cabinets and items used to disable the store security devices.

A check by police revealed that Flowers has an extraditable warrant out of New York. A check also revealed that Tabron has a probation violation warrant out of CT.
Simmons was arrested and charged with:

- third degree larceny,
- conspiracy to commit third degree larceny,
- possession of burglary tools,
- misuse of registration plate,
- operating an unregistered vehicle,
- no insurance,
- operating under suspension, and
- failure to display a number plate.
Simmons is being held on a $200,000 bond and will appear at Derby Court today.
Flowers was arrested and charged with third degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third degree larceny, and possession of burglary tools. Flowers was also charged with Fugitive from Justice regarding the New York warrant. Flowers is being held on a $450,000 bond and will appear at Derby Court today.
Tabron was arrested and charged with third degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third degree larceny, and possession of burglary tools. Tabron was also arrested on the Violation of Probation warrant. Tabron is being held on a $215,000 bond and will appear at Derby Court today.
