Obituary: Richard James Desanti, Age 77

Richard James Desanti

Age 77, of Shelton, entered into rest on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Fitch) Desanti for 54 years. Richard was born in Bridgeport on March 16, 1935, son of the late Clement and Stephanie (Solomon) Desanti and lived in Shelton for 54 years.

He proudly served his country with the US Marine Corps. He worked as a foreman for the DMC Center at Sikorsky Aircraft for over 15 years before his retirement. Prior to Sikorsky, Richard was active in the family tire business for many years. Richard was a devoted family man and was an active alumni and supporter of Bassick High School events and activities.

He is the beloved father of Vincent James Desanti, Donna Mackey and her husband, Ed and Jennifer Wynn and her husband, Benjamin. He also leaves three cherished grandchildren, Robert, Jillian and Leah, two brothers, Ralph Desanti and his wife, Barbara and Clement Desanti and his wife, Ilise and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, CT on Thursday from 4 to 6 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Thursday evening 6 PM.
