Dennis V. Cots, age 87, of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 in Griffin Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Josephine (DiRienzo) Cots.
He was born in Shelton on November 29, 1925, son of the late Vincent and Pasquala (Peiro) Cots and was a lifelong Shelton resident.

Dennis worked in the Experimental Dept. for 29 years at Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1990. He loved music and was a longtime Guitarist and Soloist in a Country Western band named “The Country Callers”. His band played for many many years at the Bethlehem County Fair and Seymour Pumpkin Festival, as well as many local venues. He was a member of the CT Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club and Teamster Local Union 1150.

He is the adored father of Diana Krivensky and beloved grandfather of Samantha Krivensky. He is also survived by his son, Robert Cots, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers Vincent, Frederick, Angelo, and Dominick Cots.

Friends and Family may call on Friday from 4pm to 7 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Rd. Shelton. Friends and Family are invited to go directly to the Second Congregational Church, 128 Elizabeth St. Derby for his funeral service with full military honors on Saturday at 11:30 am. Entombment will be held in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. A Scholarship Fund to benefit Students furthering their Music Education will be set up through the funeral home.
